Team RWB member Andrew Durdin began as a runner then, looking for a new challenge, transitioned to triathlons. This fall, he is returning to running by participating in the Chicago Marathon on October 7.
Durdin is running to raise money for the Special Olympics, in honor of his younger sister Mandy, who has down syndrome. Here’s what he says about it:
“Life is short and not guaranteed, so if you can help others and make a difference in their lives along the way, than why not make an effort to do so…seeing [my sister] not be able to do most things in life that we tend to take for granted is truly sad. Especially when she always has a smile on her face and brings one out of everyone around her.”
