By the time Labor Day rolls around, you and your family are probably over road trips and destination vacations! This long weekend at the end of summer is a great opportunity to relax without the hassle of planning a jam-packed itinerary or spending long hours in the car. Here are some ideas for enjoying a fun, relaxing Labor Day with the whole family:
Block Party
Get the neighbors together and plan a potluck for your block with games, swimming, and outdoor fun. Be sure to check out these delicious G-free recipes you can share with the neighbors.
Craft Day With the Kids
Set aside an afternoon to craft with the kids. You can make some great G-free snacks to munch on while you pick out a few fall crafts. Grandparents Day is Sunday, September 9, so Labor Day weekend would be a perfect time to craft some presents from the grandkids!
Last Minute Getaway
If you do want to get out of the house and get away, choose a location within a 1-2 hour drive. If your family is outdoorsy, camping at the beach or in a state park could be lots of fun, or you can pick a bed and breakfast that’s off the beaten path. Most national parks and major vacation destinations will be super crowded over Labor Day weekend, so keep that in mind as you’re choosing a spot to unwind.
What is your family doing for Labor Day weekend?
