A few weeks ago, the media went into a frenzy over photos published by a French tabloid called Closer. The photos depicted the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton sunbathing topless on the balcony of a 19th century hunting lodge, where she was staying while vacationing in France with her husband, Prince William. The photos were soon circulated, and now there are rumors that a Danish gossip magazine may plan on publishing bottomless photos of her as well. Of the topless photos already published, editor-in-chief of said magazine Kim Henningsen states, "It's a set of unique photos from an A-class celebrity," he told the Belfast Telegraph. "We are a leading gossip magazine in Denmark, and it is my job to publish them."

Now, when you are fabulously gorgeous, married to a prince, and on-path to be Queen of England, chances are: changing your bikini anywhere outside will eventually be found out by someone.
On the other hand, what an awful feeling to never feel free from the prying eyes of the media! I’m just praying that the past will not repeat itself and the tabloids will just let her be. She deserves a chance to make her own history.
Do you think the media overstepped its boundaries by taking and publishing these photos of the Duchess? Or were they simply “doing their job”? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

I agree with you, it is an invasion of their privacy to take these photos and publish them. It is prompted by greed quite simply because we all know that the photographer would have sold them to any magazine of the highest bidder. Shows their priorities. They were in a private location so what happens in private should remain private. Their lives are in the public eye so much they are entitled to private time. Completely Scanlalous! -
I agree wholeheartedly. If Kate was stripping in public, such as a public beach, that would be one thing and open season for the paps; however, she and her husband were at a private home on a private balcony. This is a clear invasion of their privacy and should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Unfortunately, I understand that the punishment for such an invasion in France is not very harsh. If this sort of thing is excused by the law, then it would be legal for a "stalker" to rent a room in camera range of their home or from another building where they are staying and take pictures through the window. They should not have to live like hermits with drapes always closed. -
First let me start off by saying I love love love The View. It has all the components I love. Intelligent reporting, Hot Topics , extraordinary guests & funny plus a sisterhood with 5 powerful women which is not always easy to accomplish.I tried watching other shows eh eh nothing compares. In regards to Kate Middleton & photos I agree 100% with what you write.Unfortunately they are food for the sharks of the paparazzi. In this day & age u can't take any chances. I don't agree that they should post more photos of her. Royalty or citizen nude pics or unacceptable. This to me is a form of bullying hiding behind freedom of the press. I think this is mean and evil and a very heavy price for Kate to pay for her learning experience as a Princess. Once again thanks for The View and for your commitment & all you do for our Health . I do not agree with the media - the British Royal Family are just that - a family. They are not movie stars, entertainers, etc. and are not media seeking celebrities - their number one job is public service and supporting charities with their personal and financial support. When Kate joined the family she left behind so many opportunities so that she could support her husband in his career and as a future monarch. She has the class that this magazine editor certainly lacks. -
yes they have their jobs to do but at the same time there is are cercumstances that should over take that job such as morals would that photographer want his wife or daughter nude picture in the tabloids he and the publisher should ask them selfs that very question the only peolple that would really want to see it are perverts its not art so there is really no reason to pubilsh those kinds of photos I know in my heart if Kate were my daughter and they published these photos they would wish they hadnt
