I just got your book The G-Free Diet. My dad has been truly suffering for 5 years. He has been tested for EVERYTHING and has been living off gluten only (really) for those 5 years. I am pretty certain he has celiac disease and have him on a G-free diet. He is tracking the results (1 week in now) but doesn't feel significantly better. I keep telling him to stay the course, but he is 84 and feeling very beat down! I cannot seem to find out in your book or online, how long it should take him to see pronounced results?

As a fellow Celiac, I recently made your Banana Bread and it was by far the best one I have made. Loved it! Have you ever substituted the banana with the same amount of puréed pumpkin and made pumpkin bread? Since they are similar in texture, I was wondering if you thought it might work. Thanks so much.

Hi! Thank you for all your wonderful advice regarding gluten-free solutions.Your book saved me from many years of suffering. In fact,it is because of YOU, I finally figured out gluten was the problem. I'm still transitioning, but so far so good.
I will admit, however, that I no longer watch "The View". To me, it is sad that you waste your brilliance on this show when you could easily be a political commentator/and or anchor on any reliable cable network. It astounds me that you do not call Joy out when she uses profanity and is out right mean. Everyone I know thinks she brings nothing to the View just as did not to her radio show.
Her language about other people is offensive and she is not one bit funny. In fact, I will gladly choose the words "low-class." Whoopi usually keeps her mouth closed about many issues that she may not agree with because she still maintains her "class", Sherri just keeps interrupting and chatting about Jeffrey,and Ms. Walters usually is pandering to her left-wing political ideology.Only occasionally do these people let you speak. I felt like I was watching the same young school girls that I taught for 25 years. Elizabeth, time for you to move on from this "entertainment" mentality and ask yourself if you are staying true to your values in front of your audience. Life is so much more than the money....I hope you're not beginning to lose the Elizabeth I once so admired.

I am new to this and discovering after 15 yrs I have all the symptoms for celiac after being told I have IBS w no relief from any medication. I am on so many meds for each symptom no one thought to look at the whole picture. I am suffering horribly and close to losing my job because I can't leave the house bc I'm in the bathroom so much and in pain. How do I start? I don't know how to cleanse my body to start to feel better. I am so fatigued most days I can't get out of bed which is not good because I'm a single mom with four kids. Any help would be really appreciated!!!

Hi! I notice you use coconut flour in some of your recipes. I'm allergic to coconut, cinnamon, chocolate and all nuts. What is a good flour to substitute for the coconut flour?

Love your book. I've been on this GF transformation for about 20.months or so, but have had symptoms for over 30yrs. and no-one could help. The only answer I got was low-blood-sugar, enough :)So your book has been a BIG help. Having eliminated all G-foods/products (daily process and being vigilant). Recently I was making a GF-breakfast. Had to scrub a cast iron skillet used dish soap (omg, but can't stand germs :)w/in an hr. broke-out itching, dish soap! Looked for GF-dishsoap, no such thing. Have read all the ingr. got the most natural one, will have to update. So, any suggestions? Because your book talks about DW, but not liq.hand dishsoap. I'll use the dove bar if I have too :) + no G-products are allowed in this house, w/o my knowledge :) Thanks for your time, keep up the great work!

Hi Elizabeth, I enjoy seeing you on The View. I understand that you have to stick to your political views which are most days very one-sided. I know that you have your own personal views about what is happening in our country today, but because you are on tv, you have to be hesitant to share any diversion from who people think you are. Now, what I want to ask if why you continue to think that Barack Obama has the power to make jobs disappear? If there were jobs when he took office, what did he do with them? Did he put them in a barn, throw them in the trash, or hide them under a rock? You made a sarcastic statement the other day that didn't get any laughs about us having less jobs than before the Great Depression. Well, Obama didn't create this situation. It was Bush's incompetence that got us into this situation, and you do know that, Elizabeth. You are a very smart girl. Why make statements that you have heard others say but you know that are not true. Do you remember who saved the auto industry that Bush almost destroyed? Have you researched how many families were saved from destruction because their provider was able to keep his job? I implore you to think for yourself and not to be used by the conservative Republicans. You are awesome - don't diminish yourself by allowing others to turn you into someone that you are not. Thanks,

I have long supported you and admire your strong and independent voice on the View in regards to your political views. I have one request," please get the Romney’s to appear on the View". I’m so frustrated that they have not appeared on your show that has a very diverse audience and other shows as well, to show a different side of them. I’ve given my opinion on Mitt’s web site with no response. Thanks in advance for your efforts.

About 18 months ago I found out I have Celiac disease. The way I found out is a very interesting story. I just wanted to let you know that my wife, my son (also Celiac) and I have decided to open a 100% gluten free restaurant in Maui. Maui Brick Oven plans to open in mid September. If you happen to find yourself in Maui.....please be our guest!
